Sorry Justin Gaston and Nick Jonas, looks like you might have been replaced. Teen idol Miley Cyrus seems to have found a new object for her affections and she didn’t even need to take time out of her busy schedule to meet him.

Liam Hemsworth is an eighteen year old Australian soap star who has been shooting the movie “Last Song” with the Hannah Montana star in Georgia for the last few months. The pair were spotted smooching last week when she dropped him off at Nashville airport, sparking rumors of an off screen romance.

According to paparazzi photographs and a 16 year old New York actor Alex Emanuel, who was also entering the terminal Miley was acting as “giddy as a schoolgirl” jumping into Liam’s arms and kissing him.

On her Twitter page, on which she is always very active Miley denied the romantic hook up but other posts did demonstrate that she has been spending some major off-screen time with the Aussie Hunk, who is famous in his native land for roles in the long running soaps “Neighbors” and Home and Away”.

The filming of their movie together, which was shot on location in Tybee Island near Savannah, Georgia is done. The movie is another teen drama, this time based upon a book by popular romantic novelist Nicholas Sparks, who also wrote The Notebook and A Walk to Remember. The adult stars of the movie are Kelly Preston and Greg Kinnear.

In other “Miley News” her father Billy Ray Cyrus has defended her act at the “Teen Choice Awards” a few weeks ago when she raised more than a few eyebrows by including a pole as dancing prop in one her routines.  He says her act is all just good, clean, teen fun.  He said “You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people. She loves singing and songwriting. I always tell her to love what you’re doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion.

“I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they want to make and make it in their own voice. I think it’s important.”

Billy Ray certainly does seem to let his kids be themselves. One look at Miley’s half brother Trace Cyrus, the multi pierced, over tattooed 20 year old lead singer for the popular band Metrostation is ample proof of that.

She is Hannah Montana, squeaky clean heroine of the wildly popular Disney Channel series and an idol to millions of little girls all over the world. But Miley Cyrus is in the eye of a storm of controversy again after her very adult performance at the Teen Choice Awards on Monday evening.

During a performance of her song “Party in the USA” Miley danced on top of an ice cream cart in very short shorts and coming out of the top of cart? A pole which she made good use of during her routine.

After the broadcast the Internet was buzzing as parents complained that the 16 year old’s singer and actress’s routine was far too risque for the prime time awards show. Over a quarter of the four million viewers were, according to Nielsen under eighteen and her act was a long way from the Hannah Montana character, for whose portrayal Cyrus picked up six awards.

Representatives from Disney have actually declined to make any comment about the performance, but as a viewer one could feel the network’s discomfort. The actual images of the teen straddling the pole were captured in still pictures and broadcast on YouTube but during much of the time that Miley was atop the ice cream cart the cameras were focused strictly at her face.

This is not the first time both Miley Cyrus and he manager dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus have been criticized for their questionable choices when promoting her image. In 2008 a Vanity Fair photo shoot caused a stir when the then 15 year old Miley was photographed by celebrity photographer Annie Liebowitz draped in a satin sheet with her shoulders and bare back exposed. The teen later said that the pictures “embarrassed” her.

She also used to date (or may still be dating) an underwear model, Justin Gaston who was 21 when he met her then 15 star, causing many to question Billy Ray Cyrus’ parenting style.

All teen stars have to grow up, but some do it more gracefully than the others. Later in the show Miley presented a special award to a performer that she described as “her idol”. The performer in question was Britney Spears, someone who is probably not the best example of how to grow up gracefully once the teen years is a thing of the past.

Miley Cyrus and her dad Billy Ray are not taking any chances. Although the man who has been charged with criminal stalking after trying to sneak onto the set of the teen queen’s latest movie is behind bars, they still went ahead and obtained a restraining order against 53 year old Mark McLeod.

According to court papers filed in Chatham County, Georgia the alleged stalker “shall not harass, threaten, molest, contact or attempt to contact, or in any other manner interfere with Cyrus, any member of her family, her friends, and fellow employees.”

McLeod was first arrested on June 22 when he was apprehended trying to gain entry to the set of “ The Last Song” Miley’s latest Disney movie that is being filmed on Tybee Island, just outside of Savannah, Georgia. At that time he was charged with disorderly conduct, but was later released because of “jail overcrowding”. He had been scheduled to appear back in court on that charge on September 1^st.

He was arrested again this past Tuesday night when he was found once more trying to gain access to the closed movie set. The police were called after the man was observed by a number of people to be hanging around the area and asking strangers if they could point him in Cyrus’ direction. Police travelled to his home to arrest him in the early evening. He did not go quietly, screaming at police officers and trying to head butt one as they attempted to restrain him.

Once he was finally subdued McLeod told police that he had sent hundreds of letters to the sixteen year old and that she had responded in “secret messages” through her TV show “Hannah Montana” and on her official website. He also repeated the tale he had told arresting officers in June; that he and Miley were secretly engaged after “our eyes met a concert and we both knew”

Many people have questioned why the man was released in June, as he had told his strange story back then and was obviously as potential danger to Miley Cyrus. Disney officials did inform LAPD officials about the Georgia arrest in case the man came to the Cyrus family home there, and security was beefed up around the movie set. When asked why the man had ever been released back onto the streets in the first place Chatham County Sheriff Al St Lawrence told a local television station that “If we had heard something about this guy supposedly being a stalker … he wouldn’t have been released.”
