Michael Douglas Son faces Life in Prison on New Drug Charges.

Actor Michael Douglas’ son Cameron may be facing life in jail on drug trafficking charges, according to news reports published on Saturday.The 30 year old struggling actor is accused of possessing and distributing various forms of methamphetimine – crystal meth – over a period of three years.
He was arrested in Manhattan on July 28th 2009, but court documents have only just apparently become available. If convicted Cameron Douglas faces a minimum of ten years in prison and a maximum of life.
It is alleged that Douglas received large amounts of crystal meth in Los Angeles and then sent them to NY, often using Federal Express delivery service.
When sending the packages it is alleged that Cameron used code words like ‘pastry” and “bath salts” to get the packages through without attracting suspicion. Unfortunately for him it appears that some of his associates in his endeavors were working for the authorities and their information may have led to his arrest.
Cameron Douglas has been trying to make a name for himself in show business for years. He appeared in the movie “It runs In Family” in 2003 alongside both his father and his grandfather Kirk Douglas, but has yet to score any other significant roles either on the big screen or on television. A stint as house DJ at the popular New York night spot ended in 1999 when he was arrested buying cocaine from a drug dealer who was under police scrutiny.
He was arrested in again in 2007 when he was pulled over in Santa Monica, CA on a traffic violation. Police found a bootle of liquid cocaine and a syringe and the charge became possession.
His latest project was working with Corey Feldman on an as of yet unfinished crime drama called “Beautiful Outsiders” which the younger Douglas was co producing as well as acting in.
Because of his previous drug convictions it may be hard for Cameron Douglas to obtain a minimum sentence if convicted on the new charges. At this time it is believed he is still in custody in New York.
Michael Douglas, who was reportedly paying for the hotel room that Cameron was living in at the time of his arrest has yet to make any official statements about his eldest son’s latest legal troubles.
Cameron is the child of Michael Douglas and his first wife Diandra Douglas whose marriage ended in divorce in 2000 after twenty three years.
