Superbowl Champion quarter back Ben Roethlisberger and his lawyers have made legal moves to attack the credibility of Andrea McNulty, the woman who is accusing the 27 year old Pittsburgh Steeler of sexual assault.

His lawyers are fighting back hard, saying the Ms McNulty is lying and mentally unstable. They claim to have knowledge that she bragged to friends about having slept with “Big Ben”.

In a sworn statement originally obtained by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette a former co worker of McNulty’s, Angela Antonetti states that the woman bragged about having consensual sex with Roethlisberger and did not seem upset about any aspect of the situation, in fact discussing the possibility that she may be pregnant with “a little Roethlisberger”.

Also, Antonetti’s statement continues that Andrea McNulty asked her to go with her to a Steelers game in Pittsburgh in 2008, with hope hope of “running into Ben again”. Antonetti says she warned her coworker not to chase after Roethlisberger. She concludes by saying she was shocked when she heard about the allegations, first made on July 21st of this year,” because I knew [her] allegation ….was false. Because I knew that [her] lawsuit and false allegations would unfairly and unjustly hurt Roethlisberger, I wanted to set the story straight,”

But through his attorneys, Big Ben’s accusations are even harsher. In legal documents that have been filed in Washoe County, Nevada where the case is being investigated attorneys go after their clients accuser stating she “boasted to her friends and co-workers that she had consensual sexual relations with Mr. Roethlisberger.”

As well as Andrea “being happy” about sleeping with him, Roethlisberger claims after the incident, McNulty “was also not afraid or apprehensive about the prospect of an unplanned pregnancy, but expressed that she hoped that she was pregnant.”

After alleged assault Andrea McNulty says that she tried to report it to her bosses at the Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Casino where she was an employee and Roethlisberger a guest but was told by Harrah’s President John Koster she would be fired if she started “rumors” about the football star.

She was then subsequently treated several times for depression, something she and her lawyers say stemmed from the alleged attack.

Roethlisberger has a different explanation for her problems. The legal papers state that “alleged problems – lack of job security, need for medical benefits, need for treatment, increasing debt and lack of income” – were caused by her “inability to do her job” at the casino.

“[McNulty's] psychological breakdown appears to be the sad by-product of an affair with a married man whose wife concocted a scheme to have [her] fall in love with a fictional soldier and be abandoned by him to create heartbreak and instability.”
